Biography

Sisters Noemi and Jazmin started taking piano lessons during their elementary school years to fullfill a father’s dream of a family band. Their dad was the leader/singer in a local band – Los Hijos del Sol -and he wanted his daughters to be part of the adventure. After a few years, Noemi and Jazmin joined Los Hijos del Sol, with their brother Siboney (percussions). 

After a few years, Bernardo and Ruben joined Los Hijos del Sol, and the name changed to Karisma. Weddings, Quinces, Bautismos, Big Events, at the time Karisma was playing every weekend to meet the high demand. They were one of the most recognized names in Southern Idaho. Other people joined the band, but it was still a family band since Bernardo and Ruben are first cousins. 

Other siblings joined the band, Jeanette, Flor, Angie, and even cousins Leslie and Jackie. Some lasted in the band longer than others, but the core of Noemi and Jazmin remained. During this later era, their dad was managing the band and decided to allow his daughters to take center stage. 

Karisma decided to record original material and a name change had to occur because the name Karisma was already taken and thus Karigma was born. Karigma recorded an album and kept playing at multiple events in Idaho, Utah, Nevada and Wyoming. Karigma would eventually dismantled due to the departure of some members and a new name was taken. Karigma turned into  Conexion Vital, it was still a family band, but the dynamics were a little different now. Jazmin had married Bernardo and Noemi had married Norberto. 

The music and the lineups kept changing,  Duranguense, Banda, Sierreño and other styles were leading the charts and eventually Conexion Vital stopped playing. The demand for other styles forced them to take a break from music.   

After a few ventures, with other people and musicians, Noemi and Jazmin are now starting a new adventure, now they are leading a band who plays multiple styles of music. Rock, Pop, Cumbia, Merengue, Disco, Country, Classic Rock, Ballads, you name it, they play it.  Regardless of the styles, the lineups, and the band Names, Noemi and Jazmin still together, moving forward with the project they started with their dad a few years ago. 

You may see the band members playing in other local bands, Special Reserve, Grupo Kanu, or even Noemi and Norberto playing acoustic sets at local events, if you see them, say hi and ask about their next gig.
